New York Attorney General Letitia James is seeking to hold former President Donald Trump in civil contempt over his efforts to stonewall her civil tax fraud investigation.
“Instead of obeying a court order, Mr. Trump is trying to evade it. We are seeking the court’s immediate intervention because no one is above the law,” James said in a statement. The company also said it is"on track" to meet an April 15 deadline to turn over all the relevant documents. When March 31 arrived, however, Trump's attorneys filed objections, arguing the subpoena"is grossly overbroad, unintelligible, unduly burdensome, and does not adequately describe which documents and communications are requested or sought with reasonable particularity."
