New Jersey can expect to see showers and potentially thunderstorms this weekend.
Although the severe weather experienced Friday is not expected to continue into the weekend, wet weather is here to stay. Multiple rounds of rainy weather are likely to affect the Northeast, forecasters say.Rain and even thunderstorms could put a damper on weekend plans in parts of the Garden State. According to forecasters, New Jersey can expect to see periods of rain and storms both Saturday and Sunday.
Some of these storms may intensify to severe levels, potentially bringing locally damaging winds, per the weather service. Additionally, the heavy rainfall could result in flash flooding in certain areas, forecasters said.Temperatures will be a bit cooler but more humid than it has been this past week, with highs expected to be in the 80s, and lows mostly in the upper 60s and lower 70s Saturday.
On Sunday, thunderstorms may impact the state in the afternoon and evening, especially in areas with cooler temperatures. There’s also a slight risk of flash flooding, especially north and west of I-95. Similar to Saturday, Sunday’s temperatures are expected to reach highs in the 80s, with lows ranging from 65 to 70 degrees.still churns in the Atlantic Ocean and is now a Category 3 storm.
