The state’s seven-day average for confirmed positive tests is 156 — up 10% from a week ago and down 57% from a month ago.
“low” community levels of the coronavirusThere were 161 patients with confirmed or suspected coronavirus cases reported across 43 of the state’s 70 hospitals Tuesday night, according to data from the state. Of those hospitalized, 20 are in intensive care and six are on ventilators.
The state health department has stopped reporting the rate of transmission. The required data to calculate the transmission rate is “unavailable at this time,” according to the COVID-19 dashboard. The health department said it is investigating alternative data sources and will update the rate of transmission value when possible.New Jersey has reported more than 2.5 million total confirmed COVID-19 cases since it announced its first known case of the virus on March 4, 2020.
