After March 7 in some school districts, it will be up to parents to decide whether their kids will wear masks.
“With all these new variants coming out of thin air, I don’t think we should stop the kids from wearing masks just yet,” said Michelle Fullerton, who has two kids in the Woodbridge Township School District, one of the top ten largest districts in the state.
Bharvi Stalhamer is taking a different approach and opting to let her children make the decision for themselves. She knows her two teenagers in Edison Public Schools are annoyed with having to wear face masks day in and day out. Like many kids, they long for the “before times” of a reassuring smile in the hallway or a goofy face made across the classroom. But at the same time, she’s uncertain they’ll make a complete turnaround and embrace a barefaced approach, even with Gov. Murphy’s blessing.
