Even harder to ignore are rising tensions between the federal government and Western provinces, which surely need a more serious response than the dreary, partisan political pandering we see on Moe’s Twitter feed and elsewhere. We obviously don’t yet know what Wilkinson has in mind. But if Moe’s problem is that he can’t quite see the bigger picture, the problem with the federal Liberal government is that it sees little else, oblivious to the grimy details, like 170,000 energy workers who may lose their well-paying jobs.

It seems unlikely that many former oil and gas workers will be building solar panels in Fort McMurray or Estevan, and even less likely they will be paid so well to do it.
