Los Angeles police have launched a murder investigation after a 31-year-old woman was found dead inside her downtown apartment.Officers responded to the 200 block of South Figueroa Street, near the 110 Freeway, regarding a welfare check around shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
Detective's from the LAPD's Central Bureau Homicide responded to the scene and assumed investigative responsibility for the case. The investigation indicated that that Mooney had been killed inside her apartment, police said.
