A new late lunch menu has been introduced at North Ayrshire nurseries for afternoon sessions until the beginning of the new term in August.
Parents are "worried" that children are not receiving a hot meal while attending afternoon sessions at North Ayrshire nurseries.
From April 1 until the beginning of the new term in August, the afternoon hot light tea is being replaced by a late lunch. The meal is now delivered around 2.30pm with service beginning no later than an hour after that. The morning session menu includes warm meals such as soup, sausages and mash, mince and potatoes, fish and chips, meatballs, roast chicken, macaroni cheese, salmon fingers, sausage casserole and more.
"I have children in an afternoon place who come home at 5.30pm and are now not receiving their hot meal but morning nursery placed children are still receiving their hot lunch.
