Sean Zeisz told a jury he spent time at his mum's while his co-accused waited in the car outside
The mum of one of the men accused of arranging the shooting which killed Ashley Dale told a jury her son came for a roast dinner later that day.
She said: "I’d sent Sean a message in the morning to see if he wanted some Sunday dinner. I was doing lamb and he loved lamb.” Ms Jones replied: “I didn’t ask him." Mr Greaney pressed her on the point, saying: “He had no job, no obvious source of income, yet he had all this stuff. Did you not say; 'Sean how are you funding this'?"Mr Greaney said: “Let’s accept you have accurately recalled Sunday, August 21. How did Sean seem to be during that afternoon?”
However later that morning, after Witham and Peers had left again, Barry came into the bedroom where he was sleeping and screamed "I think Witham has killed Ashley". Zeisz told the jury Barry showed him an ECHO article about the shooting, and his "heart sank". He said: "An idea that meant you never contacted James Witham, had one contact with Peers and breathed not a word to the police? Zeisz said: “I just wanted to stay away from him. After I had my roast dinner, I stayed away from him."
