A mum has said she was in 'no man's land' after being left with no money to feed or keep her children warm, before a community champion came to her aid.
Helping the family out was Burnley-based Community Interest Company, Depher, who offer support to vulnerable people with their heating and food costs. The company's founder, James Anderson is a well-known community advocate and plumber by trade, who does what he can to provide people with the support they need.Taking to Twitter, James posted about the mother's story. He wrote: "I have just left a 37 year old mother whose husband passed away from covid complications.
His follow-up tweet explained that he had given the mum an electrical heater as a back-up, which will arrive tomorrow morning for the family. He also posted that he had "topped the meters up with £80 each."
