The proposals for the development on Carrick Street, Broomielaw would see 500 new student beds created in the city centre. Updated plans are now set to go before a public consultation.
A second round of consultations are to begin into plans to build new student housing in the city centre .
As well as student accommodation, the plans include a commercial unit which could be used by the community. Previous proposals also earmarked the former Glasgow City Mission building for demolition but the new plans would see the building incorporated into the new design. David Saunders, managing director of Valeo Management Europe, said: “We are delighted to bring forward plans for new purpose-built student accommodation in Glasgow City Centre.”
