On Instagram, Nguyen responded to someone who criticized her for continuing to post pictures of herself after posting a black square for #BlackoutTuesday by saying “people die every f––ing day.
Nguyen’s comments come as the U.S. has seen large-scale protests in every state over the death of George Floyd, a Black man, during an arrest in Minneapolis. On May 25, Officer Derek Chauvin pressed his knee into Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes.
