Concerns over the withdrawal of the X1 service were raised.
MSP Christina McKelvie MSP hosted a surgery with First Bus which allowed residents to directly air their concerns over the withdrawal of the X1 service.It was organised following a meeting with Ms McKelvie during which she highlighted the local community’s strong desire to see a reinstatement of the X1 route.
The MSP had previously met with First bus and highlighted the impact of the 2020 withdrawal of the X1 service. There have been a number of events campaigning for reinstatement of the service which ran from the area directly to and from Glasgow. First Bus have previously stressed the effect of driver shortages, but that they will “continue to keep an open mind on future growth opportunities”.
