MPs’ asset disclosure rule good, but pundits fear telling only MACC will make it too powerful

“We support that all MPs, regardless of government or Opposition, should declare their assets to MACC. He pointed out that the initiative requires the approval of Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof and that Parliament itself has the authority to censure stubborn lawmakers. “The government should follow the UK Parliament, where it has a Register of Members Financial Interests.
