Asthma + Lung UK Scotland is warning those living with lung conditions like asthma or COPD of the dangers of living in damp or substandard housing.
Mouldy homes are choking thousands of Scots - with one in three people with lung problems saying mould makes them worse.
That’s because mould produces spores which can be breathed in to wreak havoc on people’s lungs and overall health. Paul, 39, said: “I lived in a damp house for a number of years, and it had a very negative impact on my asthma. “In the end there was black mould in both the kitchen and bathroom despite my best efforts to remove it.”
