A 56-year-old man died after crashing his motorcycle on Sunrise Highway near Mount Laguna on Sunday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
The rider was headed south about 1:30 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a left curve in the roadway, about 1.5 miles north of Old Highway 80, CHP Officer Jared Grieshaber said. The man’s motorcycle crashed into a guardrail along the west edge of the roadway, throwing him about 100 feet down an embankment.Advertisement
The investigation was ongoing Tuesday. Investigators had not determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, Grieshaber said. They also hadn’t determined how fast the rider was traveling before the crash.
