The Premiership clash has been pushed back for TV coverage
Motherwell's December clash with Rangers has been moved to Christmas Eve - with the Steelmen hitting out at the SPFL and broadcasters Sky Sports over a lack of consultation on the fixture switch.
It is an announcement that hasn't gone down well amongst supporters, with many, understandably, having festive plans arranged and a number of supporters will not be able to attend or be unable to watch the game live on TV. And the Fir Park club have criticised the SPFL and Sky for not consulting them further on the move, which they believe to be a special circumstance given the game will now take place on Christmas Eve, and blasted the hour's notice they were given.
"Whilst we fully acknowledge that the contract which is currently in place between the SPFL and our main broadcasters allows kick off times to be moved from Saturday to Sunday midday, with an agreed notice period, we believe that moving a major fixture to this date is a special circumstance that should’ve led to additional consultation / discussion with the club.
