VICTIM, SUSPECT IDENTIFIED: A man who shot and killed his girlfriend Sunday night in front of a police officer, later setting her home on fire, was found dead, according to the Sugar Land PD.
The tragedy unfolded at a home in the 4100 block of Issacks Way around 11 p.m.
Sandles took off but somehow came back to the home without the police seeing him and set a fire, officials said. Officers said once they eventually made it into the home, they found Sandles dead. Right now, investigators said it is unclear how he died. The fire caused the roof of the home to cave in and fall.
