The White House could face new issues with vaccine hesitancy as children ages 5-11 become eligible for the shot.
A growing majority of Americans have “confidence” that the Biden administration can quickly distribute Covid-19 vaccines, a new Axios/Ipsos
finds, but as vaccine hesitancy remains an issue in the U.S.—and could get worse when children become eligible—only one in five trust the federal government to convince those who are still unvaccinated to get the shot.The poll, conducted October 22-25 among 1,038 U.S. adults, found 76% trust the Biden administration to “make the vaccine widely available” and 70% have confidence the federal government can “deliver it quickly.
That’s up from 62% and 57% who said in January they believed the administration could make the vaccine widely available and distribute it swiftly, respectively, AxiosAs children ages 5-11 become eligible for vaccination potentially within the coming days, 64% said they have confidence the administration can quickly deliver the shots to that age group.
