Tigers improve to 3-0 this season
The 5-foot-11, 243-pound Mevis, nicknamed “The Thicc Kicker,” was a freshman All-American in 2020 and a first-team All-SEC pick in 2021. However, he’d struggled with consistency of late, famously missing a 26-yarder at the end of regulation in Missouri’s overtime loss to Auburn last season.
Missouri trailed Kansas State by a touchdown entering the fourth quarter, but outscored the Wildcats 13-3 in the final 15 minutes. Brady Cook’s 26-yard touchdown pass to Luther Burden gave the Tigers their first lead at 27-24 with 8:24 left, but KSU’s Chris Tennant tied the game at 27 on a 26-yard field goal with 5:25 to play.

Biden admin gets Supreme Court involved in its First Amendment fight with Missouri’s AG.In July, a federal judge decided Biden administration officials violated the First Amendment while contacting social media companies about removing posts with covid misinformation. His injunction barring them from making contact in many cases was narrowed by appeals court judges but now the Biden Administration has asked the Supreme Court (PDF) to put a hold on it (Washington Post, New York Times).
