Gov. Tate Reeves said the Supreme Court ruling will make Mississippi’s colleges and universities stronger, but it’s unclear if any currently consider race as a factor in admissions.

by Molly Minta, Mississippi Today June 30, 2023 The governing board of Mississippi’s eight public universities will review its admission policies in light of the U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down the consideration of race as a factor in college admissions.  Going forward, colleges and universities will only be able to consider race in the context of how it’s affected a potential student’s life, the court ruled.
