Regina police have notified that both mother and two\u002Dyear\u002Dold son, subjects of an Amber Alert issued Sunday, have been located unharmed.
Both subjects were located safely in Regina at approximately 6 p.m. on Sunday, according to Saskatchewan RCMP. The child was found unharmed and mother Kerry Keewatin was taken into custody.
In a news release issued early Sunday morning, Regina Police Service said that officers were called around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday to the 1100 block of 13th Ave. for a report of a woman trying to remove her biological son, of whom she did not have custody. When police arrived, the mother was gone, as was the boy. Police later learned that Keewatin was at Regina General Hospital shortly after with her son, but then left on foot.
Staff Sergeant Shane Riddell told the Leader-Post that an Amber Alert was not immediately issued Sunday morning, as RPS was still assessing the criteria to decide if one should be activated. An alert was later issued in the afternoon.
