Secretaries from the Army, Navy and Air Force wrote an op-ed denouncing Sen. Tommy Tuberville, an Alabama Republican, for blocking hundreds of promotions.
“As the civilian leaders of the Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Army, we are proud to work alongside exceptional military leaders who are skilled, motivated and empowered to protect our national security,” the secretaries wrote, calling the military leaders “the foundation of America’s enduring military advantage.” But they say “this foundation is being actively eroded by the actions of a single U.S.
The Army, Navy and Marine Corps are being led “by acting officials without the full range of legal authorities necessary to make the decisions that will sustain the United States’ military edge,” they said, adding thatAnd this has led to a strain on military families, the secretaries said: Tuberville’s hubris is remarkable here.
