This is something that has been done before in the past, most notably with the Yellow Ranger following Trang's passing.Initially billed for a limited episode arc, Frank's Tommy became an undeniable fan favourite and the leader of the Rangers until the series' 1996 end.
Naturally they can't do that without the guidance of Alpha 5 who will be there to steer the team. Fans will also be delighted to hear that the special will also feature Barbara Goodson .
