After negotiating over the summer to purchase for $2.2 million a combined 19 acres of key Southland District property, Middleburg Heights successfully closed the sale on Sept. 8.
“It gives the city of Middleburg Heights control over … the largest area of land in Southland,” Castelli said on June 13. “It will lead to the realization of the master plan our residents, City Council and stakeholders worked on for years.”
“We have spent a lot of time and effort putting together our Southland redevelopment initiative … so it’s important to the city that we control the direction of that acreage to ultimately meet the vision of our strategic plan,” Castelli said.
