An Israeli Defence Force spokesperson said there were no injuries and the incident was being investigated.An aerial threat has struck a building in Israel's Red Sea port of Eilat.The launch set off sirens but was not intercepted by Israeli air defences, said the IDF.Eilat has come under repeated missile and drone attack by Houthi rebels in Yemen.

He said several buildings had been burned down and counted six bodies in the area, including two in the hospital courtyard. General Charles Q Brown Jr, the chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff, is said to have conveyed the plans during a conversation with General Herzi Halevi, his IDF contemporary.

The meeting between the two countries would be the first after Mr Netanyahu cancelled a planned delegation visit to the US after it abstained in a UN Security Council vote that demanded a ceasefire in Gaza for the rest of Ramadan. "These are the bombs that can destroy entire blocks," one senior administration official said of the MK84 bombs.But there is growing criticism of Washington's continued supply of weapons six months into the war amid international scrutiny of Israel's military tactics in Gaza and a mounting civilian death toll.
