The US Navy says its ships and aircraft shot down 15 uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAVs) fired by Yemen's Houthis in the Red Sea this morning that were aimed at US war destroyers, while aid continues to be airdropped into Gaza as reports grow of children starving to death.
Gaza's health ministry says at least 30,960 Palestinians have been killed and 72,524 wounded in Israel's military offensive since the 7 October attack.

Mr Biden was speaking as talks remain stalled in Cairo, with Israel and Hamas both blaming each other for the lack of progress. Open Arms founder Oscar Camps said the ship is expected to depart on Saturday and will take two or three days to arrive in Gaza - although its exact arrival point has not been disclosed.
Israel said on Friday that it welcomes the maritime corridor but the ships using it will still need"a security check according to Israeli standards".
