The MTA said a bridge girder buckled at a Bronx River Parkway overpass above the tracks while a state Department of Transportation maintenance crew was working on it overnight Friday into Saturday.
The MTA says there was split service on the New Haven and Harlem lines since 3 a.m. due to structural repairs urgently needed to a Bronx River Parkway overpass above the tracks that made it unsafe to operate trains in the area.
