has issued a yellow weather warning for wind in the far north of Scotland until 10am on Wednesday, and another warning for rain across large parts of Wales and the South West from 9pm on Wednesday night until 5pm on Thursday.
“Another rainfall warning comes into affect in Wales and South West England in the evening on Wednesday night, and given the ground is saturated from recent rain there’s likely to be some flooding by Thursday. Wales and South West are certainly seeing the brunt of that weather system.” “We will see close to a month’s worth of rain by the end of this week. It has been a very wet start to the year,” Mr Morgan added. “Western parts of the UK have not been quite as wet but they have also seen around half the month’s rainfall in the first 10 days.
Bookmakers have slashed the odds for a record-breaking rainfall, with Coral making it odds-on at 4-5 for this month to end as the wettest January in the UK since records began.
