The Met Office has forecast mercury levels to drop to 9C on Friday and Saturday with shivering night-time temperatures of 3C and 2C
The latest Met Office forecast for Lancashire shows temperatures are set to drop significantly in the coming days.
They will fall gradually during Friday evening and overnight and by 6am on Saturday morning they will be down to 2C. Temperatures will drop even faster on Saturday evening with highs of 8C at 3pm and then down to 3C and 6pm and 2C at 9pm.The cold weather will continue overnight into Sunday when daytime temperatures will stay in single figures with highs of just 7C. However excited to welcome the winter period with blankets of snow will, unfortunately, have to wait longer.
Its website states Thursday will see "blustery heavy showers" bringing the "odd rumble of thunder and risk of hail". The winds will ease in the afternoon with "showers turning heavier, with longer spells of rain possible".
