The Met Office has warned 'exceptional rainfall' is expected to cause severe flooding and disruption.
A rare red weather warning has been issued for Scotland as Storm Babet is expected to cause "severe flooding and disruption" this week.
It's also likely that power cuts may occur, and dangerous driving conditions will be created thanks to spray and floodwater on the roads, with "essential services" such as gas, mobile phone service and water potentially being cut off. According to the Met Office website, a red warning means that risk to life is "very likely" and people should "take action now" to keep safe.
The red alert is the first one to be issued in Scotland since November 2021 when Storm Arwen battered the country.
