Some areas could see thick flurries of snow on Friday, March 1, with forecasters warning of 'disruption'
Parts of Lancashire are braced for another round of wintry weather on the first day of March with heavy snow forecast to hit parts of the county this morning.
There will also be lighter outbreaks east of Lancaster and by 10.30am residents in Clitheroe are forecast to begin seeing snow. Heavier downfalls are expected to continue in the east of the county until around 2pm before easing in the afternoon.However, heavy burst of snow are expected in the Forest of Bowland from 1pm and will continue until around 4pm. Further snow fall is also forecast near Darwen at 5pm, however this won't last long and the snow will then clear for the rest of the day.
However it will feel like -7C this morning due to the wind chill while elsewhere in Lancashire, temperatures will climb no higher than 4C. Rain and hail is also expected throughout most of the day before clearing by 7pm. The forecast for tonight states: "Winds becoming light overnight allowing areas of low cloud to develop. Showers remain possible, these wintry at times, especially over high ground. Patchy fog, frost and ice developing. Cold. Minimum temperature -2 °C."
