The weather is expected to take a turn for the worst on Thursday
It comes as Storm Ciarán is expected to hit the UK on Thursday, with 72 areas of the UK already confirmed as those set to be worst hit by the rain as flood warnings are issued. In Yorkshire, there are currently 22 warnings and alerts in place.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Periods of heavy rain associated with Storm Ciarán will affect parts of northeast England during Thursday. Rainfall amounts are likely to reach 20-30 mm widely, with 40-60 mm accumulating over high ground. Strong east to northeast winds will accompany the rainfall, possibly exacerbating any impacts."
On Tuesday, they say the weather will be: "Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, during the morning. The rain gradually easing into the afternoon, but staying cloudy and damp. Rain and strengthening winds spreading northwards overnight. Maximum temperature 10C."
