The yellow weather warning will come into place at 11am this morning
The Met Office has issued a thunderstorm warning for today - including for parts of Greater Manchester.
The thunderstorm warning will last until 10pm tonight. It also covers much of Lancashire, Cumbria, Yorkshire, the North East of England and Scotland.Met Office forecasters warn that in the areas covered by the warning, 'slow moving thunderstorms and heavy showers may cause some disruption to travel and outdoor activities'. The downpours are likely to lead to difficult driving conditions, with problems on the roads and on buses likely.
