No arrests have been made after the shooting Monday afternoon.
AKRON, Ohio — A 65-year-old woman was wounded in the shoulder and a 25-year-old woman was hit in the hand Monday when three men got out of car and opened fire on multiple homes near the Middlebury and East Akron neighborhoods.
Both women were taken to hospitals after the shooting, but their wounds are not life-threatening, police say. The shooting was reported at about 3:48 p.m. on the 500 block of Gridley Avenue, which is near the interchange for Interstates 76 and 77. As a car drove south on the street, three men got out and opened fire, with bullets hitting at least three homes and multiple vehicles.
The 65-year-old woman was on the porch of her home when she was hit, police say. The 25-year-old woman was standing in front of another residence.Anyone with information can contact police at 330-375-2490 or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS.
