Samantha Markle won’t be able to refile her failed defamation case against Meghan Markle after a US court rules in the Duchess of Sussex’s favour Meghan Markle has won a defamation case over comments she made in the Netflix show Harry and Meghan and in an Oprah Winfrey interview. Samantha Markle, 59, launched the lawsuit claiming the Duchess of Sussex had told ‘demonstrably false and malicious lies’ about her during the tell-all interview in 2021.
Judge Honeywell said: ‘That Plaintiff used one last name and then the name Markle soon after reports of Defendant’s relationship with Prince Harry were published is substantially true, based on the exhibits in the record, of which the Court has taken judicial notice, and the Court cannot reasonably infer otherwise.
