Megan Thee Stallion said she “suffered gunshot wounds” in Hollywood over the weekend; now, she is setting the record straight about what happened, after the attack was twisted by people seemingly trying to implicate her.
On Wednesday, July 15, the rapper posted a note to her Instagram explaining that she had been shot early Sunday morning in Los Angeles while out with fellow musician Tory Lanez. “On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me,” she wrote in the note.
She also directly refuted false claims that she was arrested, given that she was seen being transported somewhere by members of the police. “I was never arrested,” she underscored. “The police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets.” Megan did not address the identity of the person culpable for the gunshot wounds, and added that she is “incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night. I’m currently focused on my recovery, so I can return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible.”
The note comes after erroneous reports that stemmed from a disturbance at Kylie Jenner’s house party in the Hollywood Hills on Saturday night.
