Suzanne Box and Alex Hunt are running for Lamar CISD's District 7 trustee seat in the May 5 election.In the race for Lamar CISD's District 7 trustee seat, incumbent Alex Hunt is primarily focused on long-term planning to address the anticipated influx of 30,000 additional students into the district over the next decade, while challenger Suzanne Box says discipline and transportation are Lamar's biggest challenges.
"I’m a parent and see the issues facing our schools firsthand,” said Hunt. “I know the challenges our teachers are facing because I’ve faced them, too. I’ll continue to support our teachers and work to retain the incredible teachers we have in LCISD.”. He is a co-founder and board chair of the Foster Care Advocacy Center, a nonprofit advocating on behalf of children and families in the child welfare system.
Box grew up in Fort Bend County. After graduating from Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School, she worked in software development for Halliburton.
