Meet Alabama’s Jonathan Young, who hits the beach tonight on 'Survivor.'

depicts Young as a fitness enthusiast who owns a beach services company and whose dislikes include bullies, wearing shirts and disrespectful behavior. True to the last, he prefaced a lot of his answers during a phone interview with “Yes, sir.”

The work includes setting up and taking down beach equipment ranging from chairs and umbrellas to pavilions, paddleboards and kayaks.

A steady supply of food is never guaranteed on the show and staying fueled can be a challenge. Competitors lose weight before viewers’ eyes and sometimes they lose energy and morale as well. Young said that was “100%” on his mind as he prepared. Young said one of the formative relationships of his life began about seven years ago, when he was 22. Lawrence Wendell Pohl, better known as wrestling star Lex Luger, came to First Baptist Church in Gulf Shores to give his testimony. Luger had hit bottom in 2003 when his girlfriend, wrestler “Miss Elizabeth” Hulette died in an accidental overdose and he pleaded guilty to felony drug possession. Years later, Young found him to be a changed man.

“Mr. Lex, he’s helped me my whole life,” he said. “He’s the one who told me I should eat extra food instead of fasting. He gave me his personal workout plan.”
