Police received calls at about 5.50am about a seriously burnt man A Liverpool McDonald’s worker who died after he ‘set himself on fire’ has been named by colleagues as Dave. The fast-food restaurant confirmed that Dave, 49, worked in the branch on Queens Drive, Walton, before his death. He was found covered in serious burns in the early hours of October 26 but died the following day in hospital.
The loveliest man ever and I had the pleasure of working with him, always putting a smile on everyone’s face bright and early in the morning. ‘You will be missed dearly.’ A third staffer said: ‘He was a lovely man, it’s so sad.’ Merseyside Police have said Dave’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
