McDonald's is planning to refurbish one of its Nottingham restaurants to speed up customers' orders. The world's largest fast-food chain has submitted revamp plans for its restaurant in Leen Drive, Bulwell , to Nottingham City Council.
Bosses at the chain want to extend and make changes to the current building, according to planning documents. Designs show the eatery would be expanded between the booths where drive-thru customers wait and that a new 'fast forward' booth would be added. McDonald's has previously explained these new booths allow customers to pull forward to a third booth if there is a small delay in the order, rather than driving through the drive-thru lane and slowing others. The outside of the Bulwell restaurant would be altered, with new windows, fencing and a new access door.The layout of its car park would be slightly changed and there would be "minor" reconfiguration of the parking bays, resulting in the loss of three parking spaces.
The changes will not increase or decrease the number of workers employed at the restaurant, planning documents submitted by McDonald's said. The planning application is pending consideration by Nottingham City Council.
