The military-themed destination is scheduled to open in one of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego's former downtown buildings in November
After 31 years downtown, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego on Friday officially exited the two buildings it occupied near the historic Santa Fe Train Depot Station. But a high-profile destination will soon be moving into one of those spaces. Florida's Navy SEAL Museum has announced plans to open a second, West Coast location in the One American Plaza building on Kettner Boulevard.
'We used to have lower ceilings, so we have that now here in a space that has all the trappings of a full service museum, from state-of-the-art climate and humidity control to amenities like a café and gift store.' Nonetheless, Kanjo said MCASD will continue its outreach to the wider community by bringing artwork into San Diego school classrooms, as well as into other venues through its partnerships with other organizations.
