The policy is the latest of many Trump administration moves to restrict both legal and illegal immigration.that he lacked control over the messaging from his department. He also said the Trump administration “went too far” when it decided to separate thousands of migrant parents and children at the southwest border in 2018, a move he recommended at the time.
