Manchester City were minutes away from securing three points against Chelsea with only nine players on the field for the home side. Chelsea pulled it back to level terms in stoppage time after both Alex Greenwood and Lauren Hemp were shown double yellow cards to end the game a goal a piece.
“Probably rightly so I was animated because you want to be there for your players, we were defending with our lives. It's so hard to be completely cut apart from it all on the sidelines,” he added. “I think sometimes the officials in their mind think we need to even this up and then all of a sudden everything you do is a yellow card. So it seems like we’ve gone from here to here straight away in clamping down,” Taylor admitted, holding one hand much higher than the other in gesture.
“So, we’re going to have to change a lot of things, or they’re going to have to change but I don't think there's not enough allowance or feeling about the game. That game was pretty subdued today. This is not the fiery hustle and bustle game that I thought it would be at the beginning.
