Maya Moore won four WNBA titles with the Minnesota Lynx and on Monday she announced she was retiring from the sport altogether after a few years away.
Minnesota Lynx first-round draft picks Maya Moore, left, and Amber Harris talk to reporters, April 12, 2011, in Minneapolis, the day after the WNBA basketball draft.
Moore told reporters after the TV appearance she was too focused on her off-court priorities and playing basketball wasn’t on her mind. "Just trying to learn a new rhythm outside of playing — I didn’t really wrestle with a desire to want to switch that pace up," she said, adding"I wasn’t just sitting around wishing I was playing again. I just felt such a sense of purpose."
