O-T Fagbenle talks to THR about Maxxx — a British comedy series he wrote, directed and leads — and his upcoming BlackWidow role as a mysterious character with a romantic history with Scarlett Johansson’s Avenger
— Fagbenle plays Mason, a mysterious character with a romantic history with Scarlett Johansson’s Avenger. He tellsthat he initially balked when he got word, while on vacation in Mexico several years ago, that Marvel Studios wanted him to audition. "I guess I didn’t think it was a real thing. And I was so obsessed with" explains the actor, who spent his vacation writing scripts for the show.
"After I'd recorded it, I was like, 'Oh that's pretty good tape, actually,'" he says with a laugh. "It just escalated again and again and again to the point it was like, 'Oh my God, like I'm actually going to be in a Marvel movie.'"’s schedule, and he worried he might have to give up the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "was not a movable thing in my heart," says Fagbenle.
