Terry, 30, said he was told to tone down elements of his image while on the ITV talent show because he "looked too gay". "I can't blame the show because it has given me a career, but also I'd be lying if I said my mental health wasn't affected," he said. "I don't want anybody to make the same mistake I did because there is so much room for everybody in this world to love freely."
