Matt Bomer in Mid-Century Modern and the White Collar cast
Summary The White Collar reunion may have already been set, but Matt Bomer's newest TV role is a major roadblock to the show actually happening. A decade since the USA Network procedural wrapped up its run, the interest in Neal Caffrey and Peter Burke's partnership has increased since news broke out that the unusual pair is coming back on the small screen. Creator Jeff Eastin had long been working on bringing White Collar back, but it was only this year that it was officially announced.
There's still no release date confirmed, but since the cast has already shot some scenes for the multi-cam sitcom, chances are that the Hulu series is currently Bomer's top priority, and understandably so, considering that it will likely premiere earlier than the White Collar return. Granted that the project can open with how Peter and Elizabeth Burke are doing a decade after Neal faked his death in the White Collar finale, but ultimately, the show will have to shift its focus back to Neal. Whether that means that the series picks up with him still in Paris or if he's back in New York doesn't matter. What's important is that he will be at play.
