MasterChef star Marcus Wareing has spoken about his late father Raymond Wareing, who he described as 'the best' and said he learnt his culinary skills from the generation before him
MasterChef's Marcus Wareing has opened up about the heartbreak of losing his father, Raymond Wareing, in his new series. The 53-year-old Southport-born chef will pay a special tribute to his late father in the BBC's Marcus Wareing Simply Provence.
Marcus credits his culinary skills to the previous generation, particularly his father, whom he describes as "the best". His father's influence prepared him for work in some of the world's top restaurants, including the Grill Room at London's Savoy, Gilbert Scott at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, and Marcus at the Berkeley.
Marcus further added: "He worked incredibly hard. I never saw him at home. My father gave me something that not many people have - a work ethic," reports the Express. He recalled: "As a young chef, I stood out from other chefs of my age because I knew how to work harder and faster than them. I paid more attention to the job."
