House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) told reporters Friday that he opposes a new FBI facility near DC, complicating efforts by Virginia and Maryland to win it.

Virginia had seemed to have the advantage in the sweepstakes for the multimillion-dollar headquarters, which carries some 7,500 jobs. But Maryland’s congressional delegation and Gov.
