Martin O’Neill believes Nottingham Forest are ‘getting it all together’ as victory over Aston Villa saw them nestled safely in the Premier League ’s mid-table.
Speaking about the game on talkSPORT, the 71-year-old was asked which of his former clubs he wanted to win the match, having both played for and managed Forest and steered Villa into European football well over a decade ago.READ MORE: Forest notebook featuring Toffolo text and Wood aiming for Olympics
“Forest score the early goal and Forest have some good players playing at the football club. Really good players at this minute. I was probably rooting for a draw in the game, you know, so that a point each because I think that Villa are in really good hands with the manager. I think he's excellent manager. Forest are gradually getting it all together.”
